Our Green Adventure in Acadia National Park

Our favorite part of this summer's awesome {and laid back} road trip was our time spent in Acadia National Park in Maine.

It was fun to camp and hike the park. There were so many different areas to explore.

Every landscape was beautiful - completely and in its own way. Oh my and the colors we found in the park were gorgeous- grass, trees, moss... so much green! So many shades of green.

It was a most lovely adventure.

I'm linking up with Rebecca of Bumbles & Light and Kristi of Live and Love Out Loud for a summer photo challenge. Check out the photos of so many others thinking about this week's topic "Green/Adventure" {here}.

Spring Photo Fun {Yellow/Easter}

That's right. Back with a Nurture Photo Challenge! This time for spring.

FOR SPRING! Which makes me smile so big that I can hardly see clearly enough to focus my lens and snap a photo! {I just love spring!}

Thank goodness for springy-yellow days! And thanks to Rebecca, Kristi, and Alicia for putting on the Spring Photo Challenge!

Winter Nurture Photography {Finale}

March is here. February has passed with its dark and light filled moments. The snow is gone and back again.

Winter's colors and icy treasures are melting away. Hopefully growing into bright and beautiful hues that we can enjoy during the upcoming months of spring.

However, we all know that weather is never so predictable. Snow... we haven't seen the last of you yet.

I'm linking up for the final prompt of the winter photography challenge. As always, thanks Rebecca and Kristi! I've really enjoyed the Nurture Photography Winter Challenge and continued inspiration!

A Bit of Blue in February

February can be the month that just drags on. Never knowing if it will be a cold and snowy type of day or a muddy and sunny kind of day. Sometimes to know what to do with yourself in the month of February you just have to go out there.

Get involved in that questionable weather.

Take a deep breath. Breathe it all in.

Last week, I had a few days of that stale, not going anywhere kind of feeling. It seems to crop up this time of year. But this weekend- after a muddy hike, some garden planning, and a blue-filled morning walk- I was able to clear my head.

Thanks February. I guess you were exactly what I needed.

I'm linking up this post with lots of others who are thinking about the most recent topic for the Nurture Photography Challenge: Blue/Breathe {check out those posts here}. Kristi and Rebecca are the hosts of this seasonal challenge!

Nurture Photo {Silver/Treasure}

I find that saved summer's bounty is one of my favorite indoor treasures of the winter season!

Whether stored in a jar or the freezer it makes me smile cooking with such tasty goodies from our most recent growing season.

I'm starting to run low on my go-to items. No more frozen tomatoes, peas and I'm at the last of my sweet golden corn. Good thing I'm planning this year's garden... I even received an email from our local CSA this week!
Can't wait for those spring and summer veggies!

This week's photo prompt is "silver" or treasure". Check out other photos considering these ideas here. Thanks Kristi and Rebecca for hosting the challenge!

Nurture Photography Challenge {White}

During this strange winter we've had lots of fun spending time inside our home.
Of course with a few scattered days to be out and about in the sunshine and minimal snow.

Something that we enjoy during the warm months is a good flea market! So when the weather starts to warm {even for just the day} we get the itch.

Lucky for us a new vintage shop just opened in our little town!

Appropriate prices with shop owners and workers who are very nice to chat with! We've actually scored a few fun finds.

Spending our winter days adding a few small details inside our house.
What else to do while we wait for the outdoors to bring on weather ready for planting?

I'm linking up with the Nurture Photography Winter Challenge hosted by Kristi and Rebecca. Check out other photos which consider this week's topic White/Minimalism.

Nurture Photography Winter Challenge Begins {Black}

This winter has been a back and forth, rainy, snowy, sunny, blustery kind of season. The only thing consistent is something warm in my mug. Lately, it has been a bit of black coffee.

I'm linking up with Rebecca and Kristi for the first week of the Winter Nurture Photography Challenge! I joined in for several weeks during the fall challenge and had such a great time! Thanks ladies for hosting and providing the interesting photo prompts! Check out the links from this week here!

Feeling Thankful and Missing Fall

Thanksgiving is upon us. In my mind, the fall season ends for me on this holiday. I believe this to be true because when I was a child snow would often fall on Thanksgiving. It makes for a magical family dinner to see a few white flakes float down to barely cover the remaining brown leaves in the backyard.

The past few days have been wonderful and sunny outside. We've enjoyed a lot of time out hiking and taking in those last bits of fall. What a great way to send off this wonderful season!

Thankful for a beautiful season and for having so many loved ones to celebrate life's bounty with.

Hope your Thanksgiving is happy too!

I'm linking up with Rebecca and Kristi for the final fall photo challenge post. Thank you ladies for your creative and inspiring ideas that kept so many talented people snapping!

Red Foliage, No Foliage

We've watched our summer green leaves change to yellows and golds.

Leaves that have been falling for several weeks.

Out pop the little gems that have finally agreed to join the season with their many shades of red.

And now they too find special places to rest for the cold winter months ahead.

Lovely fall now filled with chilly mornings... cold, blustery nights... and even a bit of snow.

Stay safe and warm!

"Orange" & "Fall"

Orange. Fall. They go hand in hand.

A beautiful season. A warm happy color.

Here's to the warm days of fall.

Warm days that are fleeting away. Quicker than falling leaves.

Nurture Photography: Finding bits of Yellow and Fall

Fall is here. Completely. With cooler temperatures I've reserved my flip flops for warm afternoons and wrap a scarf around my neck during those chilly evenings. I love this time... where there is still lots of green, but with flashes of yellow, red and orange.

It has that feeling of "new" as the season continues to change.

Apparently this one is also a big fan of fall. She can't get enough of those skittering leaves.

Beautiful fall. I hope you stick around for a bit. (:

Nurture Photography: Green/Journey and Leaves in the Yard

I was super excited to read about the Nurture Photography Challenge for Fall 2012 put on by the team of Rebecca of Bumbles and Light and Kristi of Live and Love Out Loud

This week's inspiring topics are Green or Journey. Those are the words I had in mind when photographing nature this week.

I have a feeling that it will be a fast paced fall around here. Our yard is nonstop covered in leaves. And a good gust of wind can create a short lived rainstorm of pine needles.

Something I love about leaves is their journey doesn't stop once they reach the ground. They still have more changing to do.

Check out the challenge here. There are several topics to consider in the upcoming weeks. You can pick and choose when you can/want to participate. Even if you don't choose to add any photos it should be inspiring to view all the posted images of fall.

Get out, enjoy the fall weather and take a few photos for next week's topics (Yellow and Light).

Happy snapping! :)
